Claim your Google “Place for Business” and get found more easily
For a while, Google has had a feature that lets you claim a space for your business. It used to be called Google Places. Now, it’s called Places for Business.
When someone searches for your name or service and your business shows up, Google displays some of the information you provide for your Places for Business profile.
How do I get my business listed?
Go to www.google.com/business/placesforbusiness/. You’ll see a page that looks something like this (the images change every few seconds).
Click the Get Started for Free button. You’ll see a screen where you can edit the sections of your Places for Business content. Here’s what mine looks like.
Note that you’ll be asked to verify your business. Google does that by calling you on the phone number you provided and giving you a pin number that you need to enter.
Do a test search for your business before and after setting up your Place for Business and see what differences you can find. Leave a comment about it!

Does this only benefit those with businesses that are actual locations? Or can virtual businesses do this too?
