The joy of recurring income from commission payments

0Comments

online-business-recurring-income-1It’s one thing to promote someone’s product as an affiliate, make some sales, and get a one-time commission.

It’s another thing entirely to promote a recurring product, such as a membership.

When I first joined the NAMS (Novice to Advanced Marketing System), I was paying $37 for the Insiders Club. Then I sold 2 memberships, which paid me 50% each month. In other words, I got the Insiders Club for free!

Just 2 months ago, I promoted Kelly McCausey’s Image Monthly Club. This is a great $7 monthly subscription that provides online business owners with a continual stream of images and quotes. I was pleased that 15 people bought the product in response to my email. Each month, I get 15 emails telling me that I made a sale!

So I get 50%, which is $52.50 each month ($7 x 50% = $3.50 x 15 = $52.50).

Now that’s passive income! I promoted the program with 1 email (not always enough) and now I get $52.50 each month automatically. Imagine doing that with several membership programs! You could get recurring income from commissions payments month after month.

Anatomy of a webinar with an affiliate partner

2Comments

online-marketing-webinar-affiliate-partner-1Many online marketers make most of their money by doing webinars with affiliate partners.

You can do a webinar about your product for a partner’s subscribers and a partner can do a webinar about his/her product for your subscribers. In this post, I’ll talk about the first situation — you doing a webinar about your product for a partner’s subscribers.

This is not only a great way to sell, but a great way to grow your list. I once did 2 webinars in 1 week for a product with 2 different affiliate partners and sold over $9,000 worth of the product plus gained 800 subscribers, all in that week.

However, the systems involved can get complicated and you must make sure that:

  • People get to the webinar easily
  • Partners get their commissions

3 steps to finding a good affiliate program to promote as an affiliate marketer

0Comments

online-business-affiliate-programAffiliate partnerships make Internet marketing go around. You can be a product creator and get affiliates to promote for you or you can promote the products of others.

If you want to make money promoting the products of others, how do you choose whose products to promote? There are a lot of pieces to the puzzle!

1. Make sure you trust the product creator

First and foremost, you need to know and trust the person who created the product. Maybe you bought a previous product or have partnered with the person before. Maybe you have heard the person speak. Whatever you can do to check out the person’s reputation (including doing an online search for comments) will be of help.

You want to be comfortable knowing that your subscribers will get good value out of this person’s products. Otherwise, your reputation will be harmed, not just the reputation of the creator.

If possible, ask for a free copy of the product and check it out. This is not always possible, though.

2. Make sure that the product is relevant to your list

How I won an affiliate contest

2Comments

online-business-won-affiliate-contest-1This is a delicate topic for me.

Marketers who are selling products and asking affiliates to promote for them often have affiliate contests to persuade the affiliates to promote more often. How do you feel about this?

I ask because once (this was in 2014) I sent out an email that mentioned that I might get a prize for promoting a product and got a very angry email saying,

“How dare you try to get people to buy to help YOU? The hubris. you think people want to spend money on YOU? They need it to pay the mortgage and put food on the table. In case you hadn’t noticed, people are in financial trouble… except you maybe. Unsubscribe me at once.”

Of course, I unsubscribed the person quickly! But I admit that I was shocked by the email.

So, how do you feel about affiliate contests?

To tell you the truth, I’ve never promoted a product because of an affiliate contest. It was always the creator, the product, and its relevance to you, my subscribers. But occasionally the promotions I offer have contests. Interestingly, 2 top marketers that I know recently offered contests and the lack of results made them think that they won’t offer contests again — or rarely.

But I did recently win a contest and won $1,000. Maybe it was a fluke because some of the big players with lists over 10,000 didn’t promote much or at all. Still, it was nice!

So I thought I’d share with you some of the things I did to promote the products (there was a series of them) in the hope that this will help you to promote products as an affiliate.

Use your own voice and be personal

[Tweet “Use your own voice and be personal in your marketing emails”]

The marketer will usually give you some email copy that you can use, but you should never use it as is. Instead, you need to use your own voice and be personal. Your subscribers want to hear from you, not from someone else. Here are 3 examples from the emails I sent: Read More

How to make easy money with a white label course

0Comments

online-business-white-label-course-1To grow your business, you need to start teaching courses. There’s no doubt about it. A course lets you charge multiple people a fee and so you can make much more than you would training or coaching individuals.

For example, you might be able to charge $100/hour for individualized coaching, but if you can find 10 people to pay you $27 for a course, you can earn $270.

Because you can design a course however you want, you can make it more valuable and charge more. So instead of 1 session for $27, for example, you could offer 2 sessions for $47 and earn $470 from those same 10 people. You might be able to charge $97 or more!

Here are some other advantages to teaching courses: Read More
